Julia Englund

Office Manager

Julia has spent the past 18 years making sure patients feel confident and comfortable while receiving dental care. She has performed multiple roles throughout the dental office and understands what each patient can expect from beginning to end. Her vast experience, great desire to ensure patient satisfaction-demeanor and insurance knowledge make her the ideal office manager. Julia keeps busy cooking with her family and friends. Loves to travel and explore her hometown of San Diego. You are likely to run into her roaming the beaches with her fluffy pomeranian Rai Rai

Stephanie Sturgeon RDA

Lead Registered Dental Assistant

My name is Stephanie, I am the lead Dental Assistant at the office and have been in the field for 27 years. I like to go on walks and hikes at different locations, I love to watch the Padres play baseball and watch and play golf on occasion. I like to read, watch movies and go to concerts so any suggestions would be great. I hope to make your visit to our office a happy experience for you.

Hygiene Coordinator and Dental Assistant

Hello there! My name is Mayra and I’m an RDA here at Solana Beach Family Dental. I’m a San Diego native and I enjoy the many fun adventures of being a mother to my 6 year old son, Felix. And our puppy Leia! We enjoy traveling, family walks by the many beautiful lakes in our area, and the beach of course! I began working in the dental industry in 2018. Being able to put a smile on our patients’ faces has only made my job 1000x more rewarding following such a difficult year.

Hi, I am Carolina a dental assistant, I love my job and enjoy helping our patients, it’s so rewarding seeing them happy and them wanting to come back to our office. On my free time I like to go for early morning walks and to catch a sunset at the beach,I like to play pickleball, badminton and spend time with my family and friends!

Kellee Alarcon

Dental Assistant

I was born and raised in Southern California and I am a single mother to an amazing daughter named Khloe, whom I love with all my heart. I went to Dental Assisting School in 2015 and decided to become a Dental Assistant a couple years later in 2017. I have worked as an assistant for 3.5 years and decided I wanted to transition into working in the front office in the dental field. In my free time I like to try and spend as much time with family and friends and obviously with my daughter.My daughter and I like to go to Knotts Berry Farm all the time and it is nice to have season passes so that way it’s nice to go whenever we would like.

Mari Aparicio RDH

Registered Dental Hygienist

Mari’s childhood was spent growing up in Puebla, Mexico. She attended Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla where she received a Bachelors of Science in Pre Dentistry. Mari moved to the United States in 1983 and worked as an RDA for ten years, after which she decided to go to hygiene school. She received her Bachelors of Science in Hygiene from the University of Southern California. Mari has genuinely enjoyed being a hygienist for the past twenty-two years. She is fluent in Spanish and English, and even speaks some French. She prides herself on the ability to gently, but seriously convey to her patients the importance of oral health.

Shellyann Gibson, RDH

Registered Dental Hygienist

Originally from Eugene, Oregon, I am a proud mother of 3 wonderful children. I enjoy the outdoors and exercise on a frequent basis. Some of my favorite hobbies include hiking, biking, and working out. As a registered hygienist I pride myself in providing the utmost care for my patients. I have been working in the hygiene field for over 10 years. I maintain through yet gentle care and encourage lessons for my patients on how to better care for my patient’s oral health and general well-being. I pride myself on treating my patients as a whole individual, while simultaneously considering the specific needs of each client. I enjoy getting to know and connecting with each patient.
